Hi,
Bought this for a momma and her kitten. The momma (1 year old) took to this and was adjusting well to the hole. The kitten on the other hand is having difficulty but she is following her momma but did not like the sound of poop hitting the water. It could be that she is too young (3 months). For now, we are back to traditional litter box until she is older and will try again.

I purchased this product and quite frankly I did not think our 11 year old cat Minnie would be able to be trained to go on the toilet. She was meowing and carrying on at first searching the house for her litterbox but then figured it out after a bit of prompting. After a week I removed the first ring - again some carrying on a bit but she did it. She did so well I skipped a ring and took out 2. No problem! Now, after only 5 weeks, she is regularly using the toilet to make her business and my husband and I are amazed at the result. The best part is no more litterbox mess and odor! I highly recommend this product.

This product does work; however the instructions state the entire training process will only take 5 weeks. That is a bit to fast for most cats. I spent about four month going very slow each time I removed a ring. At the same time, I purchased a battery powered automatic toilet flusher. It all works like a charm!!!! The key is to be patient.

Item good idea but needs deeper toilet pan. cats like to dig & burry aftr their business. The pan is way too shallow. Cat not comfortable & makes huge mess on toilet & floor. Also, people should be advised to start cat on flushable litter in their litter box b4 using kit. Found cat did not like change in litter either. Jury still out but product needs to deepen pan.

This product works exactly as described. My cat now uses the toilet just fine. The Citikitty was perfectly paced as far as the rings, much more balanced than some other products out there that expect your cat to complete training in only 3 or 4 steps.
I am not really understanding other reviewers' complaint that if they punched out a ring too fast they were stuck and not able to return to the previous level. The Citikitty contains a training insert for this very reason. If by chance you do punch out a ring too early, you can always take the insert, punch out the rings to the previous level and place it over the Citikitty. It seems like the perfect solution. Perhaps this was something added by Citikitty based on customer feedback.
The quality of this product was fine. It did flex some when my cat would get on it, but not so much to seem unstable. The edges of the rings are a little rough when punched out. I personally took a knife and ran it around the edge, removing the little nubs.
I would recommend this product to anyone who has the dream of a litter-free home. In fact, I cannot fathom why (aside from a cat's physical issues) any cat owner wouldn't simply see this as a natural goal. Its not difficult and the rewards of a cleaner/smell-free home are WELL worth it.
