my 5 cats love this quiet fountain. i put ice cubes in the bowl to chill the water and to watch them play with the cubes. the filters (through experimentation) can be split apart. the filter cloth and plain charcoal can be bought at fish/pet stores. i have several on-hand, made from original repacement filters. i now change them more frequently. i would be happy to make a video showing how i split them, replace the materials and put them back together. This is the best fountain ever. Its stable, easy to clean and fun for our cats. However, the filters only last two weeks before becoming clogged, along with the pump.
1. Buy a blanket style filter media (for aquariums) Filter Pad Replacement Material - 24 in. x 15 in.. Cut strips 2" x 12" and wrap it around the pump. This keeps the pump cleaner longer, and can be washed and reused.
2.Buy the Fluval Edge Pre-Filter Sponge Fluval Edge Pre-Filter Sponge - Fluval A1387 along with Fluval carbon pads Fluval 2 Plus Carbon Pads 4-pack - Fluval A195. Tuck a strip of carbon pad into the pre-filter and you have a cheaper washable filter for your fountain which lasts for months with cleaning. All for less than $10.

This is one of the best buys I've made. I have multiple cats and they all love this fountain. Because it's so easy to keep clean and easy for my cats to get the water, I think they are drinking more.

We purchased this product to get our finicky, medium-sized Catahoula to drink more water. Within one week the seams that
fuse different portions of the fountain together started showing rust, and within one month, the pump stopped working. The product looks cheaply constructed, and behaves the same. Don't waste your money.

I have owned several of the Drinkwell fountains, and this is by FAR my favorite of the 3 we have owned. I have 3 long-haired cats and have only had 2 clogs in the year that I have owned it. The motor is silent, and has far outlasted the other 2 types of Drinkwell motors. In both of my other products the motor ended up burning out and I was no longer able to use the running water feature- with the 360 I have accidentally allowed it to run down to very low levels of water and the motor continued to run! I found them on sale at another retailer and purchased 2 backups (that also had several boxes of free filters included!). I could not be happier with this product, and my 4,3 and 2 year old cats love it too!
