The K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed has a dual thermostat 4 watt heating unit buried deep within its thick, super soft, orthopedic foam base. It warms the surface 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature to a cat pleasing 102 degrees when in use. The washable cover comes in two colors and is attractive in any room in the house. This was the second heated cat bed I've bought since I have 4 cats and 2 of them are crazy about this bed. They were acting like kids fighting over a toy and once one cat was in the bed, he or she was reluctant to leave the bed for fear of the other cat taking it over. Now that there are 2 beds, there are no more conflicts. I would have preferred that the bed was a little bigger since one of my cats is a Maine Coon and 22 lbs. He kind of hangs out over one side but still loves his bed whenever the weather gets cool.

I have two cats. One is a little skiddish and has not really approached but the other absolutely loves the bed. He curls up and sleeps for hours. I feel the bed and it does not feel too warm on the floor or on him and it seems to make him very happy. Glad I decided to purchase.

These seem to work well as we have 3 of them and 2 or our cats use them exclusively. The other cat never uses these heated beds. So I guess in the musical words of Meatloaf, "Two out of Three Ain't Bad".

I bought this for my basement home office to keep the cats from trying to lay on my laptop keyboard, which puts out a lot of heat. Worked like a charm. They try to muscle each other out of it.
I thought it was pricey at first, but I liked the idea of the self-adjusting heat and it was the right size for the space. Absolutely worth the money. I plan to buy another one for the upstairs--I have a 20 year old cat that has earned a heated bed of his own in his favorite sleeping spot.

My little persian has to occasionally be given the lion cut due to large unruley mattes. He will sometimes shiver even when he sits on my lap. He was constantly looking for the "warm spot" in my house. I got this bed and plugged it in and after very little nudging he jumped in and slept all day. Now he just waits patiently to see me plug it in and he is heading for his bed.
