I was nervous about getting a bark collar for my dog just like any other dog owner. I have a Puggle that has separation anxiety, she likes to bark at 3 AM in the morning and won't stop until you let her sleep in your bed or on the couch. She would bark for over an hour consistently.
A family member recommended this brand of bark collar. Even though it was a little expensive, it was totally worth it. I use it on the first setting for my 29 lb dog. The first setting seems to be enough to stop her barking with an annoying tingle. I've tried it on myself up to setting 3. It ONLY corrects if my dog barks, or consistently growls loudly. It was a well worth investment to give my dog the correction she needs WITHOUT harming her.
I read reviews of other dog bark collars and was horrified at the bad reviews. The collars would correct(shock) even when the dog didn't bark, say it scratch the collar or shook its head. Sometimes the dog would just be standing and the collar would be correcting nonstop. Poor dogs! I couldn't stand the thought of that happening to my dog. This kind of mishap NEVER happens with this collar. I wouldn't buy any other brand of bark collar.

We bought this product three-plus years ago after living with our German Sheppard barking at every passer-by in the neighborhood, most delivery folks and the occasional woodland creature. The difference made by the collar was night and day. Like other reviewers, we tried several settings but found it worked best at III. It worked flawlessly until the battery died (expensive little suckers) but a replacement brought it back to life. After about two years, the switch would no longer activate the unit so I contacted Tri-Tronics and they invited me to send it to them. I fully expected a repair bill but there was none...they repaired the switch and returned it...no charge...after TWO years! After three years the switch has failed again and I'm finding the best price on a replacement Tri-Tronics.

I have been through (2) ineffective PetSmart bark collars to try and control my Australian Shepherd's barking issue. I work from home and I was constantly up/down to bring the dog in -- no less than 10 times a day. Within 10 minutes of this collar being worn my dog is virtually silent! My wife is happy..I am happy...I am sure my dog is not happy :) I would recommend this product to anyone and, in fact, did recommend for my mother's small dog. A ++++++ . Also, being able to see if my dog barked with the collar on is a + ! Great purchase!

This collar definitely works. But be careful using it and be sure to remove it every day for a time. If you leave it on too much or the fur gets wet, it can burn your dog's skin. If your dog has a lot of fur around the neck be sure to check it every day to make sure the skin is not getting burned. If you are careful, this is a good product.

I bought this collar a week ago for my 4 month old Weim puppy. So far it makes him bark more for some reason. I've reluctantly gone up to level 5 on the collar with no change in the barking behaviour.
