This is a great gate. It is very convenient to use. It is suppose to swing shut, but unfortunately it doesn't always, so you just have to manually shut it on your own. But that fact does not change how nice it is to have!!! Keeps baby in and the dogs out, it is great product. I would highly reccomend it!! :-)

Would have been easier to install had I read the instructions. Quite sturdy (my son has been climbing on it with no problems), looks very nice with our decor, and I love the door to it. I hated having to climb over a gate. I have this in between our living room and kitchen, so can't speak on how it works for stairs. Would definitely purchase again.

This gate seems pretty sturdy. It took a little time to get it adjusted just right, but once you get it in it works and looks good.

In general, I've been happy with the Summer Infant Extra Tall Decorative Walk-Thru Gate. This purchase is the 3rd I've installed in my home.
I actually use it to keep my dog out of rooms/places I don't want her to go.
Ease of installation is good. Durability is good. Appearance is good. Spring/latch mechanism is good.
There seems to be a double spring on these gates. On one of my gates (the most heavily used one), I think one of the springs broke... however, the remaining spring seems up to the task.
The first two I purchased at Target. The third I purchased from Amazon.

This even better than i ever expected.Its's nice to walk thru the gate rather than to try and step over it, like our old one. Thanks for a great product.
